Join our dedicated laboratory team as a Senior Histotechnologist, where your expertise plays a critical role in patient care.
Working in a fast-paced laboratory environment, you'll apply your technical expertise, attention to detail, and knowledge of departmental procedures to support accurate diagnoses and outstanding patient care.
In this highly skilled position, you will be responsible for the preparation of surgical and autopsy specimens for microscopic examination by the Pathologist, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency. As a trusted laboratory professional, you will maintain a thorough working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures while contributing to the delivery of timely and accurate diagnostic information that supports exceptional patient outcomes.
Prepare, process, embed, section, stain, and coverslip tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
Accession, label, and maintain accurate documentation for all tissue samples and testing activities.
Perform routine histology, special stains, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures.
Troubleshoot staining quality, instrumentation, and workflow issues; document corrective actions.
Support validation and implementation of new histology and IHC technologies.
Train and mentor staff and students while assisting with competency assessments.
Maintain tissue banks, reagents, and laboratory supplies needed for testing.
Adhere to quality assurance, quality control, safety, and regulatory standards, including CLIA and CAP requirements.
Assist with the development, review, and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
Serve as a technical resource and contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
