About the role

The Medical Assistant is responsible for greeting patients, documenting vital signs, and escorting patients to exam rooms. They also provide front office support and perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and injections as needed.

Hourly Pay Range

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Travel: Travel to other Cardiology clinics when needed

What you will do

  • Greet patients and escort them to exam room
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
  • Perform basic vitals such as blood pressure, height and weight
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Phlebotomy and giving injections varies based on the specialty

What you will need

Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.

Certification: CPR-BLS certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.

Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
