The Role: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) Provides direct patient care to patients in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. This position has a per diem schedule and requires cross-training to the Thayer Center for Health ED in Waterville.
The Work: Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Triages and prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
May precept student nurses and new hires.
The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials. Requires an active Maine RN licensure and preferably at least 2 years of RN experience, specifically within an ER environment. Preferred certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, MOAB, and TNCC.
