Provides technical support to the surgical team by scrubbing in, setting up and breaking down procedures, and maintaining the sterile field. Responsible for managing surgical instruments, supplies, and ensuring the operating room is cleaned and restocked between cases.
The Surgical Technician serves as a member of the healthcare team and provides technical support to the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist in the operating room. The Surgical Technologist assumes appropriate responsibilities in the perioperative area by scrubbing, assisting the RN circulator, setting up and breaking down surgical procedures, pulling and putting away supplies and equipment, and environmental service duties.
This is a per diem position!
Requires a high school diploma, graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, and CST certification via NBSTSA. BLS certification is required, and one year of current OR experience is preferred.
