Hands at Home Care Services·Montpelier, Ohio

Practice for this role

Caregiver

About the role

The caregiver must remain awake and alert throughout overnight shifts to monitor client safety and respond to needs. Responsibilities include assisting with toileting, transfers, snacks, and light housekeeping while documenting care updates.

Caregiver – build your day with coordinated client visits & earn more

Do you enjoy staying busy, meeting new people, and having variety in your workday?

Hands at Home Care Services is hiring dependable and flexible caregivers who are comfortable supporting multiple clients throughout the day.

Not every caregiver wants to work a 12-hour shift with one person. Some enjoy helping several people while building a schedule with meaningful, consistent hours.

Our Scheduling Team may be able to combine two or more nearby client visits into one organized workday, helping you build a fuller schedule while providing meaningful care to multiple people in your community.

Build a fuller day with nearby client visits

Instead of accepting only one short visit, you may be able to work several nearby visits together.

For example, your day could look like

  • Help one client get ready for the day from 8:00
  • AM to 11:00 AM
  • Receive paid travel time for approved travel to the next client
  • Support another client with meals, errands, or daily activities from 11:30
  • AM to 2:30 PM

The goal is not to rush from one client to another. It is to create a thoughtful schedule that allows each client to receive the time, attention, and support they need while helping you build a reliable and rewarding workday.

Earn more by building your schedule

  • Caregivers who are willing to work with multiple nearby clients may have opportunities to:
  • Build more weekly hours
  • Combine shorter visits into a fuller workday
  • Reduce unnecessary driving between service areas
  • Receive pay for approved travel time between client visits
  • Create a schedule that works with their availability
  • Gain experience supporting people with different needs
  • Build meaningful relationships with multiple clients
  • Qualify for an additional schedule bonus when all eligible visits are completed and verified

Before accepting an opportunity, you will receive information about the expected work window, general service area, number of clients, total visit hours, and estimated travel between visits.

You do not have to accept every opportunity. Our Scheduling Team considers your availability, preferred hours, experience, location, comfort level, and each client's needs before discussing an assignment with you.

Who is a good fit for this role?

This position is a great fit for caregivers who are comfortable

  • Meeting and building relationships with new clients
  • Working with more than one client during the day
  • Adjusting their caregiving approach for each client's personality, preferences, care plan, and needs
  • Driving to different client locations throughout the day
  • Managing their time so every client receives dependable, unrushed care
  • Communicating with the office when a visit, travel delay, or client concern affects the schedule
  • Providing compassionate and respectful care in different home environments

Every client is different. A successful caregiver listens, pays attention, and adjusts their approach while respecting each client's routines, choices, home, and independence.
