Support clinic workflow by rooming patients, documenting clinical histories, and assisting with orthopedic exams and procedures. Perform clinical tasks such as dressing changes, splinting, and maintaining sterile equipment in accordance with safety standards.
This position has hours of: 8am-8:30pm 3 days a week
SOSPLUS is an Urgent Ortho Injury Walk-In Clinic. A variety of orthopedic injuries are seen in the walk-in clinic.
Job Responsibilities
Support efficient clinic workflow by reviewing provider schedules, organizing patient flow, rooming patients, andassistingwith exam and procedure preparation in a fast-paced orthopedic walk-in setting.
Obtain and document patient history, chief complaint, vital signs, medications, allergies, and other relevant clinical information in the electronic medical record.
Assistpatients as needed with ambulation, transfers, dressing, positioning, and preparation for examination, treatment, and minor in-office procedures.
Performs dressing changes,sutureand staple removal.Assistswithsplinting and casting, asordered.
Observe, document, and promptly report unusual findings, changes in patient condition, or abnormal responses to the provider for further evaluation.
Reinforce provider instructions and promote patient understanding by communicating care plans and providing education related to treatment, splint or cast care, and durable medical equipment.
Enter provider-directed orders and related clinical information into the electronic medical record accurately and promptly.
Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas ina clean, organized, and adequately stocked condition to support safe and efficient patient care.
Ensure instruments are cleaned, wrapped, autoclaved, andmaintainedappropriatelyon a daily basisin accordance withinfection prevention and safety standards.
Adhere toestablishedinfection control, patient safety, confidentiality, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations and delivery of high-quality orthopedic urgent care services.
Requires a Licensed Practical Nurse capable of working in a fast-paced urgent care orthopedic setting. Must be proficient in clinical documentation and the application of orthopedic supports.
