Job Overview

Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at our Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN.

Schedule

This role is a .6 FTE (48 hours every 2 weeks) working 12-hour night shifts, with every third weekend rotation. Variable weekday schedule. Night shift is 1900-0730.

About this

Unit

The Emergency Department has 25 beds and sees a wide variety. The trauma room stands alone & we follow the Team Nursing model. We offer a multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies. Our care delivery team consists of Board Certified/Eligible ED physicians, RNs, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, and Psych Associates. Teamwork is very important to success in the ED.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes. Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs. Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes. Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes. Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) Required Qualifications: 1 year of ED or ICU RN experience MN Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) ACLS: Must complete no later than 6 months post hire TNCC and PALS: Must complete no more than one year post hire. ENPC: If the RN has never had it, need to complete no more than one year post hire. Once lifetime (does not need to be current)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Nursing 1 year experience Certification by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing as a CEN or CPEN 1 year RN Emergency Department, pediatric/adult critical care, or telemetry experience

Requirements

Candidates must have a MN Registered Nurse license, BLS certification, and at least one year of ED or ICU experience. ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and ENPC certifications are required to be completed within specific timeframes post-hire.
