About the role

The phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and labeling blood and other clinical specimens for laboratory testing. They also assist with order entry, route specimens to appropriate areas, and provide relevant information to patients.

Position Summary

The phlebotomist collects and labels blood and other required specimens requiring testing in the clinical laboratory. The phlebotomist may assist with order entry of tests, assists technologists and ensures specimens are timely routed to the appropriate areas for testing. Educates patients with relevant information regarding lab testing. Education Requirements:

High School education required. Completion of a lab or phlebotomy program is preferred. Experience Requirements:

Prior phlebotomy experience in a hospital or outpatient setting is preferred. Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Phlebotomy certification is preferred. BLS Certification is preferred. Must have valid Driver's License.

Requirements

A high school diploma is required, while completion of a phlebotomy program and professional certification are preferred. Candidates should ideally have prior experience in a hospital or outpatient setting and must possess a valid driver's license.
