As Pulmonary Function Technician, you will support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability. This position provides the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership abilities through peer leadership, while also gaining valuable opportunities for career advancement and growth. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and act as a resource person for staff. Participate in continuous quality improvement. Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols. Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team. Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs. Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable). Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (where applicable). If designated as a Technical Consultant by the blood gas Laboratory Director, meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited Program of Respiratory Therapy Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC Current licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s Degree C/RPFT credentialing through the NBRC Physical Requirements: Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range. May require sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and hold current RRT and Ohio RCP licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
