Job Requirements

Position Summary

The Clinic RN Hospital based is to be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by providing exercise assessment, treatment planning, and cardiac rhythm evaluation. Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Clinic RN oversees prescribed cardiac rehabilitation treatment. The Clinic RN is responsible, as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, for promoting optimal outcomes. The Clinic RN demonstrates an understanding of the philosophy of quality-driven, patient-centered care. Along with the Exercise Physiologist, the Clinic RN will continuously monitor patients for exercise tolerance and adverse response to exercise. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES 1. Responds immediately to any new or changing patient conditions, reporting appropriately to the supervising and/or referring physician. 2. Adheres to Health First Cardiac Rehabilitation policies and procedures in accordance with accepted standards of practice, i.e., FL Practice Act, AACVPR Guidelines, Joint Commission, and Medicare. 3. Documents thoroughly all initial assessment findings, treatment session results, and reassessment outcomes, addressing clinical and behavioral data in the medical record. 4. Ensures completion and certification of all components of the Individualized Treatment Plan by the medical director or referring physician every thirty (30) days for the duration of the program. 5. Contributes expertise as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, promoting cardiac rehabilitation outcomes by demonstrating independent judgment and anticipating the needs of patients. 6. Participates in the evaluation/initial assessment of new cardiac rehabilitation patients, contributing to the development of the Individualized Treatment Plan with team members. 7. Reviews the plan of care and goals at least every 30 days to make changes and/or reinforce goal setting and clinical outcomes. 8. Evaluates patients’ risk factors, offering support and developing strategies to aid patients in achieving successful therapeutic lifestyle changes. 9. Ensures all cardiac rehabilitation patients demonstrate an understanding of the Individualized Treatment Plan. 10. Treats every patient with courtesy and respect, presenting a caring and professional tone of voice, etiquette, and behavior when addressing goals, treatment, and overall delivery of services.

Work Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
  • Work Experience: One (1) year in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Licensure: Current RN Licensure in the State of Florida.
  • Certification: o American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Completion Card prior to start date and maintained. o AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card within ninety (90) days of start date and maintained.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: o Knowledge of Cardiovascular interventions. o Cardiac Telemetry/ECG.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Work Experience: Three (3) years in hospital cardiac unit or cardiology clinic setting.
  • Certification: American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) within 90 days and maintained.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: o Primary Prevention Techniques. o Medications. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently.
  • May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead.
  • May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
  • May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise.
  • May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
