Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The Mammography Technologist performs routine screening mammography examinations to obtain high quality radiographs.
Obtains images of excellent diagnostic quality to optimally demonstrate anatomy and/or pathology while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients.
The technologist educates the patient about the exam and takes measures to provide and care for the patient’s safety and properly utilizes procedure related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient.
Alerts Supervisor and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions.
Maintains a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requires an Associate degree or higher from an ARRT-approved program and specific California state licenses for diagnostic and mammographic radiologic technology. ARRT and BLS certifications are required, with mammography certification needed within six months of hire.
