About the role

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for preparing patients and performing radiologic procedures as ordered by providers. They must ensure patient safety through radiation shielding and maintain the functionality of examination rooms and equipment.

  • The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing radiologic procedures as ordered by Provider.

  • Monday-Friday - 8am - 5pm
  • Columbus, OH

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. Responsible for explaining procedure to patient and answer questions.
  • Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials as well as various media.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and reports malfunctions to appropriate person(s).
  • Process routine paperwork as necessary.
  • Maintain examination rooms, stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Attend required staff and educational meetings.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensures & Certifications

Required: Completion of course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Required: Current certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist

Required: Current Ohio Department of Health Radiology license

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray testing
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and patient movement
  • Skill in properly positioning patients as well as properly identifying equipment problems
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patient, medical staff, and the public
  • Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables
  • Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices
  • Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent relationship building skills

Requirements

Candidates must have completed an ARRT-approved course in Radiologic Technology and hold current ARRT certification. A current Ohio Department of Health Radiology license is also required.
