About the role

The specialist is responsible for verifying medication orders and participating in multidisciplinary bedside rounds. They lead clinical services, perform drug utilization reviews, and mentor staff to ensure accurate clinical documentation.

The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist - Oncology is responsible for demonstrating proficiency in all pharmacist functions, such as interpreting, transcribing, or verifying medication orders. Attend and actively participate in daily multidisciplinary and bedside rounds, complete drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy, lead and develop clinical services, and mentor and educate staff to ensure accurate and appropriate documentation of clinical activities as needed.

Requirements

A PharmD or equivalent degree and a Texas Pharmacy license are required. BCOP certification is strongly preferred along with knowledge of FDA regulations and pharmacy laws.
