Assist nursing staff with patient care, personal hygiene, and comfort measures in the Emergency Department. Perform technical tasks including EKGs, phlebotomy, and the application of orthopedic appliances.
To assist the nursing staff in the rendering of patient care by providing those services necessary for patient comfort and personal hygiene requiring little or no variation in routine, and to assist in areas of orthopedic care(includes splinting), phlebotomy, accucheck, and 12-lead EKG. Also, may assist with Unit Clerk duties. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 14 days of hire. EMT certification is preferred.
