Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant to serve in the pediatric practice at our Baxter Clinic in Baxter, Minnesota. This LPN or CMA works an average of 28 hours weekly, but is a flex employee whose schedule may be increased or decreased without notice based on the needs of the facility. Shifts are 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. A $2500 sign-on incentive is available for this position.

Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated. Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category. Key roles and responsibilities include:
Patient Care and Monitoring: Perform routine assessments such as measuring vital signs, recording patient histories, and observing symptoms to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
Assisting with Procedures: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control.
Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects, ensuring accurate documentation.
Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.
Patient Intake and Preparation: Conduct initial patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories, updating personal information, and preparing patients for examination or diagnostic testing.

Requires current LPN licensure in Minnesota or CMA certification (or completion of a program with certification within one year). Must obtain AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within three months of hire.
