The Surgical Technician is responsible for providing patient care and preparing equipment, instruments, and supplies during surgical procedures. They must maintain the sterile area and anticipate the needs of the surgeon to ensure successful patient outcomes.

Position Summary

Barrett Hospital & HealthCare invites applications to fill a Surgical Technician position to join our Peri-Operative/Surgical Services team. The Surgical Technician is responsible for the provision of patient care to meet identified patient outcomes, and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the physician and Peri-Operative Surgical nursing team. The Surgical Technician performs duties according to the scope of practice designated by Barrett Hospital & HealthCare as identified in the role and responsibilities and according to industry-recognized professional organizations and certification boards. The Surgical Technologist prepares the equipment, instruments and supplies during surgery as well as protects the sterile area. Incumbents must have a clear understanding of the surgical procedure being performed, in order to anticipate the needs of the performing surgeon.

Schedule

Full-Time, M-F 5x8s DAYS - on call once every 3 weeks

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) [preferred] Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic medical record documentation preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Facility Information: Barrett Hospital & HealthCare provides the people of southwestern Montana with quality healthcare services. Requirements
