About the role

The Orthopedic Tech assists physicians and nursing staff in providing care to patients across all developmental stages. They are also responsible for the independent maintenance and upkeep of orthopedic supplies and equipment.

SHIFT

Description

Functions under the supervision of the Physical Medicine and Rehab Director and/or under the guidance/supervision of a physician requesting orthopedic services. Works independently in the maintenance and upkeep of supplies and equipment. Assists physicians and nursing staff in

carrying out patient care responsibilities to patients in the area of orthopedic services. Provides

services to patient from infancy to mature adult considering their developmental stage, cognitive, physical, emotional and psychological status.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate, or have obtained a GED;
  • Must have a minimum of one year’s experience in the care of orthopedic patients and hospital-related procedures;
  • Must have a working knowledge of orthopedic equipment, supplies, and procedures.
