Purpose and Scope of Position
This position is responsible for promoting health and safety to all employees by facilitating effective patient care and promoting quality procedural, surgical and sterilization services. This position works under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon and Outpatient Services Manager to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists are experts in the theory and application of the principles of asepsis and sterile techniques to combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, implementation and tools and technologies.

Required Qualifications
Graduate from an approved Surgical Technician Program.
Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required.
Experience as a Surgical Technician desired.
Willing to learn GI procedures & function as an operational team member within Endoscopy.
Current BLS/CPR Certification required with American Heart Association or American Red Cross as a Healthcare Provider.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
