The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties in both front and back office settings to support physicians and care teams. They are responsible for gathering, organizing, and documenting healthcare data to ensure smooth patient flow.
The Medical Assistant works with the physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties, in the “Front Office” or “Back Office”. The medical assistant also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the department, including gathering, organizing and documenting healthcare data information. The medical assistant reports directly to the practice manager, RN supervisor or director.
Candidates must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program and hold a BLS certification. Experience with EMR and ambulatory care, as well as CCMA, CMA, or CPT certifications, are preferred.
