Setting

The Stockley Center is a modern 50-bed intermediate care facility which provides skilled nursing care to adults who are living with significant physical and developmental disabilities.

The Stockley Center is located at 16351 Patriots Way in Georgetown, Delaware 19947.

Role description

As a Speech and Language Pathologist at the Stockley Center you will use your expertise to support others so they may have a voice, achieve their personal goals, and pursue their interests and desires.

Responsibilities

  • Developing meaningful relationships with your clients and learning about their abilities, interests, and needs
  • Conducting speech, language, communication, and swallowing evaluations
  • Creating and implementing person-centered treatment plans which address expressive and receptive language, augmentative and alternative communication, speech intelligibility, and feeding and swallowing
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Collaborating with nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and direct support professionals
  • Promoting resident dignity, choice, independence, and inclusion
  • Training and educating caregivers and direct support professionals
  • Compensation
  • $55.00 per hour
  • Work schedule
  • Flexible part-time schedule with daytime hours during weekdays
  • 15 hours total per week

Requirements

The candidate must possess expertise as a Speech Language Pathologist to support clients in achieving personal communication and feeding goals. Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule in an intermediate care facility setting is required.
