Work Location: McKinney, TX

Work Hours

Full-Time,Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, occasionally 7:00am-3:30pm. (One Saturday shift required every other month)

The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.

Here is what you will need

Texas Medical Board License - TMB

Current ARRT in Mammography certification or eligible to take advanced level exam with documentation of clinical experience.

Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology

Continuing

Education: MQSA/FDA- 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200-documented case numbers every 2 years.

Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred.

A Day in the Life of a Mammography Technologist

Provide services and support for the following areas:

  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography;
  • ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or
  • MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible;
  • Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT;
  • High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred;
  • Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location;
  • Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred;
  • Two years of experience in mammography is preferred;
  • Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred;
  • Prior quality control experience preferred;
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology;
