About the role

The Physician provides medical management, coordination of services, and direct patient care for individuals in substance use and behavioral healthcare programs. Responsibilities include conducting medical examinations, implementing orders, and participating in quality assurance committees.

Overview Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Physician will provide management and coordination of services to patients participating in our treatment programs. The Physician will work on a Part Time basis out of Helio Health’s Rochester Comprehensive Outpatient Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). Pay Rate: $130.00- $150.00 per hour

Responsibilities

The Physician works independently under the administrative supervision of the Service Director or Regional Vice President and the medical and clinical supervision of the Medical Director and/or Physician. The Physician works with patients, agency staff and volunteers, community agencies and other providers of medical/psychiatric services. Provide direct patient care of medical examination and monitoring, implementation of medical orders, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Serve on special review and quality assurance committees as assigned. Provide and document medical consultation, assessment, examination, treatment planning and review consistent with agency policy and requirements. On-call responsibilities required for specific levels of care. Other related assignments and duties consistent with training and experience.

Qualifications

Must be a licensed physician currently registered by the NYS Education Department. At least one year of experience or comparable training in the treatment of substance abuse and/or dependency. Have prescriptive authority and a DEA number. Basic computer skills required.
