Performs various MRI procedures to diagnose disease and delineate anatomy while ensuring patient safety and high image quality. Acts as an MRI Safety Officer by monitoring zones, screening patients for ferromagnetic objects, and maintaining compliance with safety policies.
Performs a variety of MRI procedures utilizing a high-energy magnetic field for diagnosis of disease processes and delineation of both normal/abnormal anatomy as well as pathological conditions in areas of the human body.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Completion of an accredited Health Science program.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiographic Technology (ARRT). MRI certification preferred.
1 year general radiology experience required. 3-5 years of general radiology experience or equivalent with 2 years MRI experience preferred.
Patient Tracking data(exam start/ed times), technologists notes and name, correct patient history. QA resolution, Moving Exams, and Notifies the department and/or PACS manager of any errors or outstanding problems with completing patient data.
Consults with the radiologist on duty to assure correct scanning parameters when necessary: Trauma or difficult and/or infrequent studies.

Officer: Demonstrates safety in all MRI zones, Monitors personnel and equipment entering MRI Zones III and IV, Conducts proper screening of patients for ferromagnetic objects, such as: Pacemakers, watches, bankcards., Reports to MRI Safety Committee appropriately. Trains and educates appropriate staff regarding MRI safety. Ensures compliance of MRI Safety Policy. Reviews and updates MRI policies, ensuring they are in compliance with all regulations.Conducts safety audits accurately and as instructed.
