Duties Include: Data entry & creating medical records in EMR system; Communicating with referring clinic regarding specimen/paperwork issues; Reporting of patient results to the referring clinic & state agencies when necessary; Managing send-out consultations according to insurance and/or direction from pathologist; Shipping send-out cases and supplies as necessary; Maintain a document historical reference library of pathology reports & gross reports; Allocate cases to pathologists; Answers phone and taxes messages for department; other duties as assigned.
Requirements Include: *Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, grammar, spelling and punctuation. *Knowledge of department priorities, policies and office practices. *Knowledge of managed health care environment. *Proficient knowledge of computer software programs to include Microsoft Office and basic office equipment. *Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written.) *Must be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. *Able to research information, problem solve and communicate ideas to other employees and supervisors in an organized, clear and concise manner. *Use of basic math and calculations and percentages.
Candidates must have excellent knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a managed health care environment are required.
