Support veterinarians and technicians by performing clinical tasks, including patient restraint, triage, and lab sample processing. Responsible for assisting in surgeries, monitoring anesthesia, and communicating treatment plans to clients.

Company Description Lowell Road Veterinary Center is a state of the art, multi-doctor veterinary hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Hudson, New Hampshire.

We understand all the different ways your pet communicates love and trust.

Our hospital offers many services including annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in-house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, rehabilitation services, and acupuncture.

We are ready with a positive, experienced support staff and excellent clientele and well equipped with ultrasound, underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and a complete in-house laboratory.

We also have our sister hospital 25 minutes down the road in Bedford, New Hampshire, Bedford Veterinary Medical Center.

We are located in beautiful southern, New Hampshire!

Our veterinary hospital is located on 288 Lowell Road in Hudson, just south of Manchester and next to Nashua.

Tax-free New Hampshire is a fantastic place to live and offers beaches, mountains, and city life, all within a short driving distance from our location!

Job Description

We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. If you’re confident in your abilities, passionate about patient care, and ready to grow within a supportive environment, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

As an Experienced Veterinary Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of our medical team, supporting veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-quality care to patients with a wide range of needs. Your day will include a mix of clinical tasks, client communication, and patient handling. Primary responsibilities include: Safely and effectively restraining pets using low-stress techniques Triage and intake of incoming patients Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.) Assisting with radiographs and diagnostic imaging Administering medications and monitoring patients Supporting nursing care for hospitalized and medical cases Preparing patients and instruments for surgery; assisting in procedures Monitoring patients under anesthesia Communicating treatment plans and updates to clients with compassion and clarity Must be comfortable with exposure to strong odors, loud noises, animal waste, bites, scratches, and potentially contagious conditions

Qualifications

We’re looking for: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant (required) Confidence in restraint, lab work, and assisting with procedures Weekend availability (some shifts) Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong multitasking ability and attention to detail Familiarity with preventative care, surgical support, and clinic flow Bonus: Proficient in lab processing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring A team-player mentality and willingness to support wherever needed A self-starter attitude with a desire to keep learning and growing Receptiveness to constructive feedback and dedication to continuous improvement

Requirements

Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant with confidence in restraint and lab work. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be available for some weekend shifts.
