1.
Maintain sterility during surgical procedures.
2.
Communicate and collaborate with RN and other multidisciplinary departments to coordinate the appropriate care for the surgical patients in the most efficient and highest quality manner.
3.
Follow all relevant federal requirements, AORN standards, The Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies and procedures, when caring for the patient and performing other tasks.
4.
Participate in unit and hospital wide Performance Improvement activities.
5.
Provides direction and collaborates with team members to support a healthy work environment.
6.
Provide education and be a resource to other staff members, students and new orientees.
7.
Pursue lifelong education, staying current on professional changes and best practices of surgical technique.
8.
Be a community leader and represent the surgical technologist profession beyond the walls of Good Samaritan.
9.
Maintain yearly hospital wide and unit specific competencies.
10.
Be responsible for your time and documentation of call sheets.
11.
Maintain financial responsibility in helping to stay within the unit’s budget.
12.
Communicate any issues with equipment and supplies with charge nurse, manager and inventory coordinator.
13.
Actively participate in the Unit Base Council.
