Responsible for the centralized clerical and filing activities of the Health Information Management Department in accordance with the corporate standards and supervisory instructions. Adheres to Corporate Compliance program, by reporting improper or unethical conduct, violation of applicable laws, regulations or program requirements.
Assure chart, patient, and departmental confidentiality. Open and sort out all incoming mail. Retrieve all information from fax machine. Locate account numbers for incoming mail. Utilization of computers and other equipment to accomplish departmental functions. Assist with all quality assessment and improvement or other review requirements. Scan information into patient accounts. Assist patients and process their requests for copies of medical information. Perform assigned tasks in EHR; navigating and retrieving EHR records and using/vpc (view patient chart) Other duties as assigned.
Computer literate Ability to work cooperatively Good interpersonal skills Ability to work accurately with attention to detail Working knowledge medical records and electronic health record system.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent training and experience 1-2 years prior work experience in office setting or related field. Medical Terminology training preferred
Must be physically able to accomplish moderate bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 30 lbs). When required, must be able to push, pull and carry files/boxes of moderate weight (20-30 pounds).
