    About the role

    Provide daily care, feeding, and comfort for hospitalized patients in the ICU. Maintain a clean and safe environment by sanitizing kennels and assisting nursing staff with animal restraint.

    Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our ICU team!

    This role supports our veterinary nurses and doctors by providing exceptional patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with animal handling.

    What You’ll Do: Provide daily care for hospitalized patients (feeding, walking, cleaning, comfort).

    Assist with safe animal restraint for treatments and procedures.

    Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the ICU.

    Wash and sanitize dishes, laundry, and kennels.

    Restock supplies and support the nursing team as needed.

    What We’re Looking For: Required: Animal handling experience (dogs & cats).

    Preferred

    1+ year of experience in veterinary medicine or animal care. Dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with critically ill patients. Must be available for weekends, evenings, and holidays (24/7 hospital). If you’re passionate about animal care and want to grow your skills in a hospital setting, we’d love to hear from you!

    Requirements

    Candidates must have experience handling dogs and cats and be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Previous experience in veterinary medicine is preferred.
