The Patient Care Technician assists nurses in assessing patients' conditions and meeting their hygiene, nutrition, and personal care needs. They ensure patient safety, communicate effectively about patient care, and support teamwork within the unit.

Assists the nurse in collection of data used for assessment of patients' conditions as assigned, including vital signs, weights, blood glucose monitoring, I&O, etc.
Assists with the patient's hygiene, nutrition, and personal care needs.
Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
Ensures patient safety by maintaining a safe environment under the direction of the nurse.
Communicates effectively about patient care and needs while on duty.
Supports teamwork of the unit in meeting patient needs.
Utilizes AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) when interacting with a patient or family.
Maintains a clean environment in patient care area.
• Seeks knowledge and opportunities for career development and in support of unit/department growth.
• Accepts direction of the supervisor and LPN/RN to perform other duties as assigned and participates in LCMC's community events.
Medium physical requirements- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
