The Resident Care Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assisting in the overall care of residents, including monitoring medical issues and supervising direct care staff. They also ensure compliance with regulations and maintain accurate documentation.

A member of the Personal Care Home team who is responsible in assisting in the overall care of the residents including staffing. Resident care encompasses any needs of a resident that meets admission criteria regardless of race, religion, age, or cultural background. Majority of services provided for elderly. Must be 21 years of age.
1. Compliance with rules and regulations of all federal, state, and local governments is a requirement of employment.
2. Maintains PCH regulatory compliance.
3. Monitors and assesses residents’ medical issues.
a. Communicates with resident, responsible party, and physician to address issue.
b. Maintains accurate documentation.
4. Monitors medication administration to assure regulatory compliance.
5. Completes resident assessments within assigned timeframe.
6. Supervises direct care staff.
a. Orientation of new employees.
b. Assists with competencies and performance appraisals.
c. Provides education as needed.
7. Assists with admissions and discharge of residents.
8. Directs daily meetings “huddles” to assure all resident needs are discussed and addressed.
9. Keeps informed of fire, safety, and disaster programs.
10. Serves as designated representative in Administrators absence.

Candidates must have a valid LPN license in Pennsylvania and preferably two years of experience in geriatrics or long-term care. A graduate of an accredited LPN program and current CPR certification are also required.
