Our medical department is dedicated to helping our clients improve their lives through a coordinated approach to care involving clients, their caregivers, their clinical staff, and primary care providers. The Certified Medical Assistants work as members of the medical/nursing team to provide care to a mentally ill population.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Greet patients and take their vitals, administer injections, collect health information, etc.
  • Coordinate timely and efficient patient flow in the department
  • Complete prior authorizations, laboratory requisitions, and other forms
  • Obtain patient records, answer calls and relay information in a timely manner
  • Good To Know
  • Position is based in Fairbanks, Alaska
  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • Pay Range is between $21.50 to $27.50 depending on experience. Eligible for up to $6,600 in incentive with the average being $2,500
  • $2,500 Signing Bonus (with a one-year employment commitment)
  • $1,250 paid upon hire
  • $1,250 paid after successful completion of six months of employment
  • Student Loan Repayment and Tuition Assistance is Available – Professional Growth is encouraged!
  • AKBH offers generous benefits including two healthcare options for employees and their dependent children; 401k with immediate vesting and up to 5% match, 3% automatically contributed by AKBH; and 5 weeks of PTO for the first year, and 8 weeks of PTO after the first year to be used for vacation, sick, and holidays.
  • What We Need from You
  • You have a High School Diploma or GED and are a CMA with certification in CPR and First Aid
  • You are comfortable with EMR usage and are a fast learner with computer programs
