Position Summary

Responsible for assessing physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient within assigned unit area and planning nursing care to meet those needs. Responsible to see that nursing care plans are carried out through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Adheres to standards of nursing practice of McLaren Flint, which consists of systematic approach to nursing practice by using nursing process. Assesses and documents patient’s status on admission and continuously thereafter including procedural areas Develops written plan of care, including long and short range goals and nursing actions.

Inpatient Units

  • Required: · Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan. · BLS · ACLS
  • Certification within 6 months of hire or transfer for units specified: 2 Central, 4 Central, CCU, ICU, PCU, ER, and 12 South Additional Qualifications of

  • Preferred: Previous experience in pulling arterial lines or venous sheaths

Partial Hospitalization Required

· ANCC Psych Certification within 2 years of hire or transfer.

LDRP

Required: · NRP certification within 6 months of hire or transfer · Complete the Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course and pass the test in accordance with AWHONN standards within 12 months of transfer or hire

Requirements

Requires a valid Michigan Registered Nurse license and BLS certification, with ACLS required within six months. Depending on the specific unit, minimum experience of two years in critical care or specialty nursing may be required.
