Assist in the nursing care and preparation of surgical patients while maintaining a sterile environment. Perform technical scrub duties and ensure surgical equipment is functioning safely during procedures.

Days/Nights: Eligible for Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Assistance

Qualified candidate will function under the direct supervision of an RN and assist in Nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine & delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department. Candidate will perform technical duties relating to scrub personnel, including precise & efficient reaction to all situations & assist with departmental work as assigned. Surgical techs have a vital role in creating and maintaining a sterile surgical environment and ensure that surgical equipment is functioning properly & safely as well as assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.

Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or current New York State LPN license eligible

Approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience and successful achievement in medications exam.

Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfections of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.

OR experience preferred

Desire to work within an Operating Room setting.

BLS required.

Continuing education requirements of 15 CEU's per year.
