Greenwood - Clinical Services
To perform mammography procedures utilizing X-ray imaging equipment to produce images of the breast for the screening, diagnosis, and/or treatment of diseases or injuries while ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
Education & experience
Medical Radiologic Technologist license from the Mississippi State Department of Health. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required post-hire within 90 days. Mammography (M) from American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
Knowledge, skills & abilities
Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Radiation Physics and Protection, and the principles of Imaging. Skill in the use of imaging equipment. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to comply with radiation protection practices. Ability to alleviate patient anxiety.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, constant handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, constant exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, constant bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, constant crouching/stooping, frequent kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, constant reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
