The CT Technologist is responsible for positioning patients, administering contrast media, and operating CT equipment to produce high-quality images. They also handle equipment quality assurance, patient scheduling, and maintain a clean work environment.

Job Description

The CT Technologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table. Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions. Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer. Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort. Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs. Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs. Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping. Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed

Qualifications

Required: ARRT IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety BLS through American Heart Association 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent Preferred: ARRT registry in CT or MRI 1 year experience

Salary Range

Maximum: $51.38 Compensation: USD 38.2 - USD 51.57 - hourly

Requirements

Candidates must have ARRT certification, IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety licensure, and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. A minimum of 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education is required, with CT or MRI registry and one year of experience preferred.
