About the role

Provide hands-on daily care to elderly residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility. Ensure resident safety and support while performing housekeeping duties and reporting unusual incidents.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you'll be a vital part of our compassionate team, working closely with our residents and helping them maintain their independence while receiving the care they deserve.

Schedule

  • 12 hour shift
  • Day shift 7a-7p
  • Baylor schedule, every FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY

What You’ll Do

  • As a CNA in our retirement community, your role is to provide hands-on care to our residents and ensure they feel safe, valued, and supported throughout the day.
  • Responsibilities
  • Assist elderly residents or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents with their daily activities, like getting dressed, bathing/showering, grooming, and eating.
  • Help residents take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
  • Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring residents are comfortable and safe.
  • Offer a friendly, comforting presence during meals, and assist residents with eating when needed.
  • Plan and prepare meals and help with physical therapy exercises
  • Complete resident’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
  • Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
  • Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting residents with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

  • We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our residents. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification: Completion of a CNA Program
  • Experience: Prior experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
  • Skills/Requirements:
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
  • Supportive and compassionate
  • Take pride in providing high quality care
  • Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to clients)

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma, completion of a CNA program, and at least one year of experience in healthcare or home care. Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds and possess a valid driver's license.
