Practice for this role

About the role

Perform routine radiologic services using x-ray and Dexascan equipment while ensuring accurate patient positioning and shielding. Provide additional support through patient scheduling, medical assisting, and maintaining electronic health records.

Who We Are

The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony represents descendants of three Great Basin Indigenous peoples: the Numu (Northern Paiute), Newe (Western Shoshone), and Washeshu (Washoe). These communities lived in harmony with the land for generations before European contact, following seasonal cycles and forming small, efficient social groups for survival.

Each group's name means "The People" in their own language, reflecting their deep cultural identity and connection to the Earth. They maintained strong traditions, respected neighboring tribes, and engaged in trade throughout the region.

Today, the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony continues to honor these traditions while supporting the well-being, culture, and future of its tribal community. Role Summary The Radiologic Technician/Scheduler/Medical Assistant supports timely, accurate diagnostic imaging and smooth patient flow for the medical department. This role performs routine radiologic services using x-ray and specialized diagnostic equipment (including Dexascan), and provides scheduling and Medical Assistant coverage as needed.

Key responsibilities include operating fixed/portable radiography equipment; positioning and shielding patients; adjusting settings to obtain clear images; using comfort devices to reduce movement; cleaning rooms and following Infection Control; maintaining required documentation (preventive maintenance, repairs, radiation surveys) per AAAHC; ordering supplies; updating the departmental Procedures Manual; and keeping complete, accurate electronic health records.

Required qualifications include

high school diploma/GED; CPR certification (or obtain within 3 months); 1 year medical office experience and/or CMA plus 6 months radiography experience under clinical direction; completion of a 12+ month post-high school radiography program; ability to take/vetals and document in EHR; x-ray equipment experience; scheduling/database skills; HIPAA knowledge; English communication skills; recent TB test; ability to work in a diverse minority environment. NextGen EHR preferred.

Pay

$21.58–$26.54.

Schedule

Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., onsite in Reno. Apply to be considered. A Typical Day You'll start by reviewing the day's imaging and clinic schedule, confirming patient arrival times, and preparing the room so everything is ready when the first patient is called back. Throughout the day, you'll move between imaging and front-end support-welcoming patients, explaining what to expect, and helping keep visits on time.

  • Between appointments, you'll document in the EHR, check that required logs and records are up to date, and coordinate with providers and staff so results and next steps are clear. When the pace shifts, you'll help cover scheduling or Medical Assistant needs, then reset and prepare for the next patient. You'll finish the day by ensuring rooms are orderly, documentation is complete, and the next day is set up for a smooth start. Benefits Package
