This position is an unlicensed team member that works in the nursing department prior to the completion of the nurse aide training program.
$14 - $16.50 an hour, once certified as STNA pay increase
The team member during this “prior to training” period, can’t perform any direct/physical patient care
The position is part of the Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP)
Once this team member completes the nurse aide classes and required clinical work, the team member is considered a Nurse Aide in Training (NAT).
The facility may not use any individual working in the facility as a nurse aide for more than 4 months under the Pre-T or NAT positions. The team member must pass the licensure test to become a STNA during this time period. If the team member fails to pass the licensure test in the 4 month period, they either have to be terminated or be moved to a non-nursing position
1. Perform one on one visits/companionship with patients 2. Complete any other non-direct care task assigned by nurse or unit manager 3. Assist with activities if no other nursing related activities are needed
