About the role

The Medical Assistant prepares the operating room and ensures all sterile equipment is available for procedures. They provide direct clinical assistance to physicians during assisted reproductive technology procedures and maintain strict infection control standards.

Summary

CNY Fertility is a renowned fertility center offering advanced treatments like IVF, IUI, and egg freezing. With a patient-centered approach and cutting-edge technology, we support individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood. The Medical Assistant completes a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for patient and staff; provides assistance to the physician and appropriate medical staff by performing the following duties.

Required

Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • 1.
  • Assist in preparing operating room for procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile, and readily available.
  • 2.
  • Provide compassionate care and support to patients by addressing concerns and ensuring they are prepared for surgery.
  • 3.
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff during procedures, including but not limited to; egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and other assisted reproductive technologies (ART).
  • 4.
  • Maintain an inventory of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • 5.
  • Adhere to strict sterilization protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
  • 6.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, legible and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • 7.
  • This position may also be responsible for performing other duties as assigned, consistent with the role and operations needs of the organization

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least one year of related experience and/or training; Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is highly desirable. Prior experience in surgical setting a plus.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Requirements
