Schedule Full-Time Three 12-hour day shifts Monday-Wednesday 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
Provide exceptional nursing care for critically ill and hospitalized ICU patients. Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate findings promptly to the medical team. Perform advanced patient assessments and continuous monitoring. Place and maintain intravenous catheters and administer prescribed medications and fluid therapy. Collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostic testing. Assist with emergency procedures, advanced diagnostics, and critical patient stabilization. Operate and monitor advanced patient support equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy systems. Assist with anesthesia monitoring and recovery when needed. Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation. Collaborate closely with emergency veterinarians, specialists, technicians, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care. Provide compassionate communication and education to clients regarding hospitalized patients.
Minimum of 4 years of Veterinary Technician experience, preferably in Emergency or Critical Care Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT) strongly preferred Advanced understanding of veterinary nursing, restraint, phlebotomy, anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, laboratory procedures, pharmacology, and critical patient monitoring Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities Ability to remain calm, efficient, and compassionate in a fast-paced ICU environment Fluent English speaking and reading skills required Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus About the Hospital Animal Specialty & Emergency Center of Brevard is a 24-hour emergency and specialty referral hospital dedicated to providing advanced diagnostics, innovative treatments, and compassionate patient care.
