About the role

The Registered Nurse evaluates patients to plan, implement, and document comprehensive nursing care for a diverse population with complex medical concerns. Responsibilities include administering medications, performing patient tests, and educating patients and families on self-care skills.

Registered

Nurse: Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Delivers excellent nursing care through evaluations, planning, implementation, and documentation while serving a diverse patient population with complex concerns. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. #READ #LI-AH1

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Certification and Licensure PA Registered Nurse Temporary Practice Permit or Registered Nurse License Unit Overview: R3E Internal Medicine Unit- 42-bed Adult Med/Surg unit that provides care to adult and geriatric medical patients.
  • R3E works closely with the Hospitalist physicians and the Hildreth Teaching Service Residents.
  • Patients are commonly admitted for a multitude of different medical diagnosis ranging from infections, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, gastrointestinal complications, substance abuse withdrawal, diabetic complications and more.
  • R3S Medical Unit- 37 bed medical unit serving adults with varying medical needs such as sepsis, cellulitis, gastrointestinal bleed, pneumonia, diabetic complications, urinary tract infection and other general medical needs.
  • R3S works as a collaborative team to care for our patients to provide the best possible outcomes while maintaining patient’s preference.
  • The unit care team on R3S, among others who care for the patients, is comprised of RNs, patient care assistants, care managers, respiratory care, clinical nurse specialists and providers.
