Responsibilities

The Circulating Nurse is responsible for coordinating and managing the multidisciplinary activities required to provide a safe environment for patients undergoing surgical intervention. Assess patient’s physical and psychological needs. Evaluate and implement appropriate measures to assure a safe recovery from anesthesia. The OR nurse serves as a patient advocate in the provision of care and is responsible for ensuring patient safety during intra-operative period and with recovery from anesthesia during immediate post op period and with transport to PACU.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; Current Nursing License in the State of Kansas; BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Current ACLS certifications;
