About the role

Provide day-to-day respiratory care to hospital patients of all ages with pulmonary disorders. Perform respiratory therapy procedures independently and conduct pulmonary function testing.

Responsibilities

Work under general supervision to provide day to day respiratory care to hospital patients of all ages with disorders of the pulmonary system. Perform respiratory therapy and procedures independently in addition to general cleaning and maintenance of related equipment. Receive verbal orders from physicians for respiratory treatments according to specific policies. Perform pulmonary function testing on patients.

Qualifications

Ability to read, write and follow complicated medical instructions and have a thorough understanding of respiratory therapy procedures and equipment Requires completion of an accredited (AMA) school in respiratory therapy or its equivalency Requires licensure by the State of Indiana as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Requires BLS certification Prefer two years experience

Requirements

Requires completion of an accredited respiratory therapy school and licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Indiana. BLS certification is required, and two years of experience is preferred.
