Responsibilities

General Purpose

Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.

FT position available (36 hours): D/E, weekends and holidays per service needs

The Pediatric Vascular Access Team is seeking a clinically skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to provide expert vascular access care for pediatric patients from neonates through 19 years of age.

This autonomous and collaborative role requires the ability to work independently while partnering with interdisciplinary teams across multiple patient care environments.

Responsibilities include assessing patients for appropriate vascular access, coordinating and performing PICC line insertions (including recommendations for procedural support when indicated), and performing ultrasound-guided peripheral IV insertions.

The successful candidate will serve as a vascular access resource by providing education, mentorship, and bedside consultation to nursing staff regarding peripheral IV insertion, vascular access device selection, ongoing assessment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and management.

Additional responsibilities include participating in evidence-based practice initiatives, quality improvement projects, and interdisciplinary safety teams to advance pediatric vascular access practice and improve patient outcomes.

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of nursing experience, with pediatric experience preferred.

PICC certification is preferred but not required.
