Job summary

The Certified Med Tech is responsible for the clinical and clerical duties of the Nursing staff.

Nursing job duties

  • Assists with the admission process regarding: o Welcoming client to Hope House o Performing OOWS/CIWA assessments o Performing breathalyzer tests o Obtaining urine specimens maintaining chain of custody o Obtaining clients height and weight o Dispensing the written part of the nursing intake assessment to the client and explain the sections that need to be completed. o Work to get client to their room in a timely manner and work in conjunction with treatment aides to communicate client special needs.
  • Weekly Review of all open clinical charts for completeness, using the Chart Review Form. o Inform individual staff of problems to be corrected o Flag physician order for needed signatures, twice weekly o Aggregating monthly data as requested by DoN
  • Informs Medical Records of completed patient H&P for purpose of completing SAMIS reports and completing diagnostic AXIS in the data base.
  • Label chart binders at time of counselor assignment and obtain daily admission/transfer/discharges for report to Medical Records
  • Completed Patient Charges Form for self-pay and private insurance clients at discharge and forward to accounting.
  • Reviews bills from outside vendors for accuracy based on actual lab tests completed and medications ordered. o Indicates many discrepancies on the bill. o Signs off that bills have been reviewed and forwards to accounting.
  • Order supplies, stock medications, and educational materials as requested.
  • CQI indicators as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Med Tech license from an accredited program.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with relative experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Certified Med Tech license from an accredited program. A high school diploma or GED equivalent with relative experience is also required.
