Assists physicians with imaging, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiac patients while ensuring radiation safety and quality image acquisition. Responsible for maintaining sterile fields, calibrating monitoring devices, and documenting procedural data.
· Completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology and ARRT registry, with a valid Iowa Radiology technologist permit to practice, OR a graduate of Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification program OR an Advanced medical training degree (Associate of Science degree or Associate’s degree in paramedic, or Allied Health Profession) · Two years of related experience preferred. · Basic Life Support required within 3 months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. · Basic EKG monitoring class preferred. · ACLS preferred required within 6 months of hire. · Mandatory Reporter required within 3 months of hire will have to obtain his RCIS certification. This will entail him performing 600 procedures and then taking a test. This all needs to be done by 1.5 years of the hire date.
