The ASAM RN manages the well-being of clients in rehabilitation by conducting ASAM assessments and coordinating with providers for service approval. They are also responsible for detailed insurance billing charting and managing referrals with hospitals and rehab facilities.
The ASAM RN is responsible for ensuring the well-being of persons served/clients as they go through the rehabilitation process.
Communicates with individuals with substance use disorder in need of treatment services. Conducts ASAM assessments via phone. Contact providers to provide a report on clients, including ASAM score, to get an approval for services. Performs in-depth charting for insurance billing (WV and OH). Communicates with local hospitals and rehabilitation facilities on referrals.
Must have an Associates or Bachelor's Degree from approved Nursing school. Active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, or Multi-state license. Substance abuse or psychiatric experience preferred. Must complete ASAM online course upon hire.
Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health. Have the ability to communicate with other staff and assist in ensuring the safety of the client. Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which is related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team. Attention to detail and organization a must. Computer literate with experience in a Windows environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize work and work-related responsibilities
