DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring a full-time Experienced Veterinary Assistants (Level 2) to join our Emergency and Critical Care team.
As a Veterinary Assistant Level 2 (VA2), you will be responsible for providing our clients with a top-notch experience as well as responsible for providing emergency nursing care to patients through compliance with the attending doctor's orders.
You will be responsible for patient care from triage to treatments, discharge, transfer, or euthanasia.
This includes participation in upkeep of cleanliness of the hospital and kennels and assisting doctors (DVMs) and technicians as needed.
A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, as is an appreciation of the human-animal bond.
$23-$26 per hour depending on experience, education and certifications. This position also qualifies for overnight and weekend differential pay for applicable shifts.
This position will work a 3/4 rotating schedules with 10 hours shifts including 1 weekend day per week. This means you have a consistent schedule that makes planning the rest of your life easy, and you get 3 or 4 days off in a row every week! What are we looking for in a candidate? 1+ year working as a veterinary assistant, or a combination of experience working in the veterinary field and current enrollment in an AVMA accredited tech program. Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience. Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.
