Provides professional nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac disease and stroke in a Step Down Intermediate Care Unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines and acts as the primary nurse for assigned patients.

7pm - 7:30am
Every 3rd Weekend and Every Other Holiday Required
3 South is a 32 bed Step Down Intermediate Care Unit from ICU.
The primary population on 3 South are adult and geriatric patients with cardiac disease and stroke.
In addition, we accommodate acute cardiac events requiring continuous intravenous medication drips, pre and post electrophysiology (EP) studies, pre and post cardiac catheterization, and pre and post pacemaker/automated implantable cardiac defibrillator (AICD) care.
All RN's are Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified and Stroke Certified.
The CHF Program Coordinator and the Stroke Program Coordinator work closely with the staff to provide high quality education for the patients.
Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
