Job Summary

Provides magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and patient care services at defined levels to patients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Implements patient safety standards.
  • Prepares for and assists the physician in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.

  • Education
  • Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire AND
  • RT(MR) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging required upon hire AND
  • ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
